It's Tax Time - Let's Talk About Tax Credits

How it helps YOU and WaKeeney !

WaKeeney Main Street Organization has a clear vision to restore the former Kelly Theatre Site

The plans have been drawn and are in process for the open-air, multi-use community space.  Phase I includes much needed public restrooms downtown !  Phase II will create entertainment space for local events, private events, and a quiet place to hang out downtown.  This entire project also will preserve a piece of WaKeeney's history as well as contribute to a vibrant future.  

Now let's talk Tax Credits, and why they matter to you and this project.

Tax credits are a great fundraising tool, as they may allow us to attract donors from outside our community, as well as in our community, who are looking for tax relief.  These are 70% tax credits, and they are refundable and transferrable.  Donations of stock and QCD's are eligible!  (Contact Savannah at 785-743-3270 for questions and information)   

HOW CAN YOU HELP with this effort??

As part of this application process for tax credits to be obtained, we are asking for letters of support and/or letters of pledge commitment from our community partners, YOU !!  When writing a pledge letter, please know that you would not be required to donate the amount laid out in your letter --only that you communicate to the Department of Commerce that you would consider donating $__, if tax credits were available.  The Department of Commerce wants to ensure that the project makes full use of the credits awarded and that none are wasted.  

The deadline is fast approaching! We want to make it hassle free for you !
